CDN is proud to be a Whatcom County Library system partner. Read below to see how you can access unlimited CDN articles with just a library card.
Anyone with a library card can read Cascadia Daily News articles for free online through the Whatcom County Library Newsbank system! Newsbank compensates CDN for every article you read, so by reading, you're actively supporting our local journalism.
To access CDN through the library, go to the WCLS website and log in using your library account.
Once you are logged in, scroll down until you see Newsbank/Readex Databases.
Select Cascadia Daily News Collection from the list of shortcuts.
You can search the collection by entering a keyword, name, event or topic in the search bar and clicking the Search button.
You can view recent stories by clicking on Cascadia Daily News (WA) (the top link) and browse the calendar to select a specific publication date. These stories are text only and do not include images.
You can view the newspaper pages by clicking Cascadia Daily News (7 Day Embargo) (WA). The print newspaper is published on Fridays. The latest issue may not be available until two weeks after the publication date.
For more information or assistance using the Newsbank system to read stories, please contact your local library.
